Event Information
The 10th Annual Ohio School Improvement Institute will take place on Thursday, November 19 and Friday, November 20 in Columbus, Ohio. The overall theme of the institute is “21st Century Toolbox: Creativity, Innovation and Collaboration.”
Institute Day One: Thursday, November 19, 9:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
The institute begins at 7:30 a.m. with registration and continental breakfast. The keynote speaker(s) will start at 9:00 a.m. with concurrent and roundtable sessions following from 10:45 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Time is scheduled for teams to meet and plan. Dinner is on your own.
Institute Day Two: Friday, November 20, 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
The second day of the institute begins at 7:30 a.m. with the “Breakfast of Champions, Spotlight on Ohio’s Promising Practices.” Concurrent sessions follow from 9:00 a.m. until noon, when lunch and the keynote speaker begin. Certificates of Participation will be distributed after the closing session.
Who Should Attend?
Teachers, instructors, school teams, principals, administrators, superintendents, school board members, college tech prep instructors, and postsecondary educators are encouraged to attend and participate.
Parents and school board members are also encouraged to attend to learn about proven strategies for improving student achievement.
Graduate Credit Available:
For an additional fee, you may earn one or two graduate credit hours through the University of Cincinnati or Ashland University. Credits are available for those who attend the full, two days of the institute. Please see appropriate display tables to register. Registration must be done early morning, before the 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2009.
Keynote Speakers
Thursday, November 19, 2009 - Elliott Masie - internationally recognized futurist, analyst, researcher and organizer on the critical topics of workforce learning, business collaboration and emerging technologies.
Friday, November 20, 2009 - Dave Caperton - speaker, writer, and educator who uses humor to teach the power of choice for greater happiness and success.
