Description

This event is open to all principals, directors, and site coordinators from CSE Ohio HSTW and MMGW sites. This will be the first meeting of the school year and will include a presentation by Eric Troy from the Ohio Department of Education on the topic of Leadership in the 21st Century.  Eric will discuss 21st century skills and the importance of school leadership in promoting these skills.  Schools will have time to share concerns and best practices.

Lunch will be provided by the CSE HSTW region

Objectives

By the end of the forum, participants will be able to:

• Identify FY11 expectations and activities for HSTW and MMGW sites.
• Network and share concerns and best practices.
• Discuss the role of school leaders in promoting 21st Century skills in their buildings.

Speaker

Eric Troy is currently the assistant director, Manufacturing Technologies, for the Ohio Department of Education (ODE).  He also advances 21st century skills learning.  Before joining ODE, he directed the Leadership Center for African American Males for the Ohio Board of Regents.  In addition, Eric held dual positions at the Ohio State University as program director for the Todd Anthony Bell National Resource Center on the African American Male and Manager of Public Relations and Special Projects for the office of Minority Affairs.  Eric is a graduate of Morehouse College with a B.A. in marketing and holds a M.A. in sports management from the Ohio State University.
